Power of Perception: How You View Wealth Matters 🤔
How do you perceive wealth?
Is it something you constantly strive for but never quite attain?
Or is it a feeling of abundance and gratitude for all that you have?

Research has shown that feeling wealthy, even if you're not a millionaire, can boost your mood, reduce stress, and increase your confidence (Diener & Biswas-Diener, 2002).

In today's social media-driven world, it's easy to fall into the comparison trap.
Are you caught up in constantly viewing other peoples' highlight reels, which then triggers you to feel inadequate or envious?
But remind yourself, that comparing yourself to others is a recipe for unhappiness! 😔
A recent study by Appel, Gerlach, and Crusius (2016) found that upward social comparison on social media can lead to increased envy and depression.

When you notice negative thoughts relevant to wealth creeping in, challenge them and replace them with more positive and empowering ones. 💪
Cognitive-Behavioural-Therapy (CBT) has been used for identifying and changing negative thought patterns (Beck, 2011). Most aligned to coaching, Cognitive Behavioral Coaching (CBC) techniques can be particularly helpful in identifying and reframing negative thought patterns, leading to improved emotional regulation and more positive behaviours (Spence & Grant, 2007). - Focus on your values: Align your financial goals with your values and what truly matters to you. This can help you make more meaningful decisions with your money and create a life that feels truly rich and fulfilling. 💖
Studies have shown that aligning your financial goals with your values can lead to greater financial satisfaction and a stronger sense of purpose in life (Klontz, Britt, & Curcio, 2012). - Develop financial Intelligence: Empower yourself with knowledge about money management, budgeting, saving, and investing. The more you understand about finances, the more confident and in control you'll feel. 🤓
Research indicates that individuals with higher levels of financial literacy are more likely to make sound financial decisions, save for retirement, and accumulate wealth (Lusardi & Mitchell, 2014). - Seek support: Don't be afraid to ask for help from financial advisors, mentors, or trusted friends. Having a support system can make a big difference in your financial journey. 🤝
Early research indicates social support can buffer the negative effects of financial stress (Pearlin & Schooler, 1978). Further studies show individuals who actively seek out financial guidance and support from knowledgeable individuals; or trusted peers tend to have better financial outcomes and higher levels of financial well-being (Hira & Loibl, 2005).
